Two masterpieces in one evening: the dancers of NDT 1 perform “Wildsong” by Jan Martens and “Horses” by Marcos Morau. In his first creation for NDT 1, Martens works with a large ensemble to the fierce compositions “Pretty” by Julia Wolfe and “GG Concerto” by Hanna Kulenty — a celebration of endurance, genius and rebellion. Morau’s “Horses” contrasts this with surreal, theatrical imagery and music by Andrzej Panufnik and Caroline Shaw. A breathtaking journey through resilience, chaos and transformation.
