Dear schrit_tmacher family,

With the 31st edition of the schrit_tmacher festival, we are once again presenting you a colorful mix of familiar companies and exciting new discoveries from the international contemporary dance scene. Rooted in cross-border collaboration, the festival remains unique, providing impetus for the future while preserving what unites us: a love for the universal language of dance with its wealth of perspectives as a valuable social bridge and an open view of the issues of our time.

Established companies such as NDT 1, Tao Dance Theatre, Out Innerspace, and Humanhood Dance Company meet new voices such as Humo y Polvo, Miller de' Nobili, and the Dickson Mbi Company. Together, they span a spectrum from questions about our origins to the values that shape our present. At the same time, the festival focuses on the idea of embodiment: How does dance convey the power and connectedness in a world that sometimes seems divided? How do we find a balance between body and mind – and how does dance make these questions physically tangible? The newly designed contextual program invites you to explore these perspectives in greater depth, while we have further expanded our offerings for talent development and young audiences.
