The urban dance performance “VÄTER” explores what fatherhood means today. Is it an ideal, a memory, or simply reality? Family situations and constellations are negotiated, old and modern models of fatherhood are reconsidered and images are sought that reflect the reality of young people’s lives. The stage, with a single sofa, serves as a living room, a place of retreat, a meeting place for a family, or becomes the standard setting for a favourite sitcom. Everything is negotiated in this place – even Darth Vader cannot be left out here.
