“Locking” is an urban social dance that developed in the 1970s, influenced by funk and the Black Movement. The focus is clearly on togetherness and fun, but cartoons and comics also had a visible influence. In his workshop, Kadir “Amigo” Memiş wants to combine locking with the theatrical medium of storytelling and take up, promote and develop his own, very personal dance expression.
