In “Echoes of Bharata Natyam,” Poernima Dance Company explores the journey of this Indian dance form within Dutch history and its meaning today. Through live dance, personal stories, and reflections on migration and heritage. The following panel, moderated by Siela Ardjosemito-Jethoe, focuses on the artistic practices of Akram Khan and Poernima Gobardhan, viewing their work through the lens of gender, migration, and mobility, with special attention to the South Asian diaspora.
